If the rod bearings are making a clicking sound, they're on the way out and it's likely the crank won't last much longer. A tiny bit of side-to-side movement is ok, but anymore than about 2-3 degrees off center and you're looking at excessive slop.First the background on the two saws: The Husqvarna was brand new with no tanks through it. 20" factory bar with narrow kerf chain. Fuel used was Husqvarna ethanol free XP+ 50:1 mix. The Stihl had about 7 tanks of fuel through it. 18" factory bar with new Stihl .325/.063 standard chain. My "big" saw was a 362 20 inch bar. Took a hard look at husky 572 and echo 7310 and 462 500. Down to 462 and 500 all videos they seem pretty close cutting speed. If a saw has less than 100 from the outset then it likely will be very hard to start and flood out easily.The 3410 replaces the 310 while the 3510 replaces the 352. The tree today was an old apple tree with an oblong base of 20 X 22 inches. The saw cut very fast with the full length of the bar, I was very happy. However, this saw does not have the torque of the 70 cc saws.The difference in gauge is .008" obviously enough. Running a .050" chain in a .058" bar groove, given that normal tolerances and wear will result in even more clearance, clearly can let the chain dance laterally.
