Dec 2, 2008 · The FIX, add a ounce or less of ATF or motor oil to the jack. To effectively do this you need to hold the jack up by the end with the FIXED wheels. Then remove the smaller of the 2 plugs in the bottle jack and add a very small amount of oil. Replace the plug and your set. Only caution is that it must be placed directly under the frame AND secured with ratchet straps on secure locations on the bike and on the jack. The fold out arms help stabilize the jack movement when removing front and rear tires to redistribute the weight.
