In many ways, the Kessler reminded me of blowing into a Yamaha 62. The tone, however, is nothing like that of either Yamaha, or Selmer. The tonal color is dark, and very different than any other modern tenor I've ever played. Oddly, their is a "dark buttery" quality to the tone that reminds me of an old Buescher.. Mypornsnap.feet

I was watching a video of Chad LB where he was using his SYOS signature mouthpiece and he sounded fabulous on it. The T55 Java is more tightly wrapped sound wise with a lot of focus. Big excellent for a wide variety of playing situations, however I prefer (and am looking for) and great STM with a lot of 'zing' to the sound. Space allow for more easy playing of bell low notes too. The mute looks nice with a cool shape, it's classy. There are mount and hole for mic/wire, and a hole to hold a lyre for reading music. Don't forget in 2016 Selmer came out with new reeds in a Blue Plastic container. The alto reeds were $24.99 and tenor $26.99 from KesslerMusic. The Omega's I bought in the late 1980s with the clear plastic top. I have several of the fuzzy brown boxes from the 1960s too.
